Four years after the first trip, the felt-makers made Carlos Amorales’ first piece in Kyrgyz felt, in May 2022. The series that followed brings ala-kiyiz and shyrdak — pressed and cut wool — to the scale of a painting.
Jungle Star (Universe), 289 × 203 cm, was shown by kurimanzutto at Art Basel Miami Beach, 4–8 December 2024. Other works in the series have been shown at international art fairs.
